A spring bar coupling is a special type of coupling that connects two shafts and can compensate for various types of shaft misalignment. A spring bar coupling consists of a cylindrical body divided into different segments by slots. These segments can move axially, radially, and angularly relative to each other without affecting torque transmission.
A spring bar coupling is also called a compensating coupling because it reduces vibrations and resonances in the shafts. Spring bar couplings are made of various materials such as aluminum, steel, or stainless steel and are suitable for high speeds and temperatures.
